Classic Houndstooth

Hey! I have a ton of stuff to catch up on around here. My goals today are cutting our Schnauzer's hair, bathing her and cleaning the kitchen and living room. I am making very slow headway. But I wanted to share this cute little outfit I put together with a top I found on clearance this weekend at Catos.

I love that it is long, I can wear it year round and it has a classic pattern that has longevity in my wardrobe. And I only paid $9.99 for it. Score! I wore it over a long sleeve black tee that I picked up at Wet Seal for $4.95. I then paired it with my black sweater leggings that I bought on sale at Rue21 back in late fall and these earrings and belt I bought at Wet Seal on clearance this weekend. I paid $2.00 for the belt and the earrings were a set of 3 that were marked down to $2.80. I wore my hounds tooth ballet flats which I thought gave the outfit a cute look.  I posted about these flats awhile back in this post,  http://letshike2.blogspot.com/2014/11/off-season-buys.html
I am glad to wear them again so soon!

If you received any Christmas money or gift cards the deals in the stores right now are definitely worth taking advantage of. Keep in mind upcoming events for the coming year while you are shopping and find that special something now.

End of Year Clearance

Hey! So I have found some really great deals this week in the stores. I do not go out and shop a lot but this is one of my favorite times of the year to go. Everything is on sale and the clearance racks are many and overflowing. Hollister has $20 jeans right now and  American Eagle has jeans for $30&under, online and in-store. If you need to vamp your wardrobe up this is a great time to find whatever you are looking for. I like going to every store when I am really hitting the clearance sales. These pics are my husband amusing himself while he watched me shop yesterday. lol. When I asked him what he was doing he said he was helping out with the blog! :) I like them!

Clearance racks as far as the eye can see!!!

Hope you have had a chance to go out and find some deals! I can't wait to share my Fashion Finds with you in the next few weeks.

Wild Side of Fashion

Hey! So I went shopping yesterday. Yes I went out the day after Christmas and braved the crowds of gift card spenders and gift returners to score a great deal. Plus my Christmas money present was burning a hole in my pocket. :)

I found these furry cheetah print Airwalks for $12 at Payless. They were originally $39.99. I have been wanting a pair of these( I want some gold ones too!) for long time but was not going to pay $40 for a pair of slip-ons. I was so happy when I found them in my size!!!

This cool gold link disk bracelet was $12.99 and I got it for $4 after all the discounts. I think it can be casual or dressed up and I like the size of it but it still has a delicate feel and look.

When we were walking out the door I seen this cheetah print infinity scarf for $6.40. A great deal and it was on sale and I needed one. Yes. I really needed it, especially after I bought these awesome furry shoes!

So today I paired them with some jeans, a simple long sleeve black tee and some gold filigree ball earrings.  I am loving this simple, fun and  "WILD" look.

All the stores are having huge sales to clear stock out for the end of the year. It is a great time to find key pieces for your wardrobe as every season of fashion is marked down! Go look for your Fancy Fashion Find!

Goodwill Fashion Finds

Hey! So I am back with a post on some Fancy Fashion! The holiday season has whipped my butt this year. First time ever but it is undeniable that I was not on my Holiday Game this year. I even forgot to wrap and set out my oldest son's Ferrari wallet, my youngest sons new phone case and all their new beanies for Christmas! Thank goodness between my husband and my son's girlfriend reminding me, I had little Santa helpers this year, I got them out Christmas day. Anywho, let's talk fashion.

So I have shopped at the Goodwill Bookstore my entire life.  But never have I went to a Goodwill store that carries clothes or furniture. OMG! The things that I have been missing out on!  I loved it! It is better than yard sales.  I can't wait to go back. Maybe I will hit that up tomorrow?!.

I found the most awesome little canvas style jacket with a feminine cut for $3.85. I had been looking for a jacket similar to this for awhile and was so thrilled when I seen it on the rack in my size! I snagged it and knew it was not going back on the rack. It is a brand called THE BLUES. But for less than $4, I will shop at Goodwill everyday.

Then I found this Maurice's brand wool sweater for $4.50. Wool for $4!!! And I love the cardigan style and the print. I have owned silver/gray with black rose patterns in the past and knew I would wear it endlessly. I am so happy to own a new black rose print. My last one was actually a metallic material and after 15 years it began to tarnish in spots. :(  This wool cardigan for less than $5 is an awesome replacement. I wore it while shopping the other day and it was great over a long sleeve black tee with jeans and black riding boots.

If you have a goodwill near you and you haven't tried it yet, go now. Also all the stores in the malls are having awesome end of the year sales. Go shopping now and we will talk about what we bought soon. I scored some great deals at Wet Seal, Charlotte Russe,  Belks, Payless Shoes and Body Central.

See you soon, Amy

Merry Christmas!

Hey! I hope all of you have had a magnificent Christmas! Today was different for us. Our oldest son had to work today until 4pm...it was sad in a way but part of them growing up. So.... we didn't open presents and eat dinner until around 5. I think we were all pleased with our Christmas time together this evening. The boys are off enjoying there gifts and we are kicking back enjoying not having any real responsibilities the rest of the night. I have a great post ready for tomorrow and I received money for Christmas so I am going shopping! I can't wait!
               Merry Christmas Everyone, Amy

Welcome, A Christmas Home Tour

Hey! So today's blog is going to be a little different for a couple of reasons. It is Christmas time so I think it is extremely appropriate to do a Christmas post. And I want to try and share my blog on ThriftyDecorChick:Christmas Tree party 2014,  a blog Open House Christmas Tour! I always read and look at the Holiday Home Tours on other blogs and always wanted to join one! So here I go! I am going to go and give it a try! :)
I do wish I had went all out on Decorations like I usually do but I think we talked about it before, it just didn't happen this year. But anywho, they are still Tour worthy in my mind.

So, WELCOME!!! Come with me through our home and take the moment to celebrate Christmas with us. :)

I usually have 5-7 Christmas trees up. This year we have two. Some of the house seems a little bare  but we are very happy with the decorations and the trees we put out this year. some things we have placed in different places and others used different ways.  I am liking it and have some new ideas for next year  due to changes I had to make this Season.

Let us begin in the foyer which I keep meaning to buy a Poinsettia for! :(

It is usually a little more festive...I need to go buy that plant!
Thankfully you can see the banister that leads up to the second level from the foyer. It is one of the many things I love about decorating our home for Christmas.

The dining room is our Gold Room. Gold tree with gold accent throughout the room. I didn't go all out on my mantle this year but am quite pleased with the overall look of the room. I did add my Reindeer linen cover( a gift from our dear friends in Germany) with the kissing couple in the old glass jar and the bowl of antique ornaments. The red "Merry Christmas" ornament hung on my Mother's tree when I was a child.

Our living room is the "heart" of Christmas for family and our decorations. We only put out a few of the decorations(no village this year :( ) but we made sure we stood and decorated our large 10' black Christmas Tree! Yes it is black! But it is just such a beauty with all the red and gold decorations and flowers shoved all over it! We love our BIG tree. It is the centerpiece of our Christmas decor and the kids sit right below it on Christmas morning. Our furry family members love it too. They like to lay underneath it and the lights will twinkle in their loving shiny eyes...Sigh.  Let's get on with this tour, I am going to bore you with sappy thoughts.

The  Santa Claus tree topper is 21 years old. He has been on top of every tree since our oldest son's First Christmas.

Sorry about the flash! I could not get a good pic without it. I cut all the greenery from our yard for all of our home each year. We love our  double tiered fireplace mantel.

I added the little clock by Santa Claus without the batteries and stopped it at Midnight!

The decorations throughout the rest of our home are a collection of decorations that we have bought over the years, the kids have made,hand-me-downs and gifts. We love all of them for individual reasons and because together they make up all the years of Christmas that we have shared together.

The Santas are all gifts or belonged to my Mother. I like putting out festive holiday bowls filled with a mix of Christmas materials such as pine cones, cinnamon sticks, chestnuts and things painted gold, red or silver. I also like putting fake snow and Christmas ornament in dishes or bowls.

The little cast iron tree holds many of the most delicate and special of the ornaments my boys have made.

A closer view of our special Santa tree topper and time to go. I hope you enjoyed touring our home for Christmas. I know I enjoyed viewing all the other beautiful homes this Christmas Season!
Merry Christmas to each and everyone of you!!! And a Happy New Year...
