Off Season Buys

     Hey! Just a little heads-up; I do not like cold weather and will probably complain about it often. I mean, unless you are tubing, skiing or you just want to wear a fur why would anyone want to be where it is cold?! I blame my parents for living in Ohio. I can't go too far away from my Momma so I suffer 5 months of bad weather. UGH!. I am seriously going to have to change all my profile pictures to those of beaches really soon.

So let's talk about off-season shopping. I always try to pick up a few pieces to add to my wardrobe or my family's off the clearance rack at the end of each season. Items like swimming trunks/bathing suits,  sweaters, wool pieces, etc can always be used the following year and purchased at a more affordable price. New styles or trends will usually carry over for another year also so don't be afraid to grab that super deal on "In" pieces. Classic pieces are always an excellent find. You know the staple pieces that we should all have they show us in the magazines. The ones I am getting better at purchasing like maybe sometimes  I am becoming a grown-up. :) White/black tees, that perfectly cut blazer, white button down and anything black or white or black and white. Right?  Lol  

       Like this sweater that I found at Belk's for $7 back in early summer. I just felt like it had a timeless cut and color. The built in sheer white under shirt makes it feel feminine and the sweater is soft and thick. I feel it has a cut for most any body type and the black and white color and pattern will never go out of style. It is a high quality sweater and will last me many years. I paired it with a pair of houndstooth flats that I bought last winter on clearance at Walmart for $8. I love the 3 patent straps that cross the toe on them and see these always being a go to piece for casual and dressy outfits. It is a good bet houndstooth is never going to go out of style.

       And these jeans were hand-me-downs from my son's wonderful girlfriend, thank you! I always give our old clothes away and was pretty thrilled to have some given to me! 

        The earrings are simple black chandelier drops that I wear all the time. My owl necklace. I love this necklace and I think it goes so well with this sweater. I do not find a chance to pair it with too many outfits but I just love the feathers and dangling, crystal eyes.  I bought this a few years ago at Fashion Bug before they went out of business(sad face). All-in-all I really like this outfit. It is chic.  :)
